Pritchardia pacifica is a palm in the Arecaceae family. Its native range is Tonga. The common name is Fiji Fan Palm. It is naturally found growing in dry tropical forests. In Fiji, palm fans were used as fans only by chiefs of Fiji. The fans are known as Iri masei or Ai viu. A good palm for the pacific coast. It can grow to around 40 feet tall with a grayish trunk that gets about 10 inches in diameter. The leaves are the centerpiece of this palm and can be 4 feet wide and long. They are rounded.
