1. How to Convert V-Ray Materials to Corona Materials

First, open MAXScript > Run Script. Locate the file “Vray to Corona converter.ms”, select it, and click Open.

A small window will appear. Please note the following settings:
Check the option “999 Fresnel IOR to 25”. Most Corona materials, such as mirrors, will have a Fresnel IOR value of 999 when converted to V-Ray. This can increase render times significantly. It is recommended to use a value between 1.6 and 25. The default value is 25.
Click START CONVERSION. The conversion process will take a few seconds.
Once the conversion is complete, you can set the “Assign Renderer” parameter to Corona (shortcut: F10 > Render Setup).

If you want to display the materials in the viewport, check the option to the right of the text “Show Map in VP”. Make sure the object is selected before enabling this option.
2. How to Convert Corona Materials to V-Ray Materials
As before, open MAXScript > Run Script. Locate the file “Corona to Vray converter.ms”, select it, and click Open.

After converting the materials to V-Ray, the default material Subdivs value is 8. With this setting, reflective materials may produce noticeable noise. You can use the following recommended values:
* Reflection Subdivs: 12
* Refraction Subdivs: 12
Click “Convert Corona to Vray Materials” and “Convert Corona to Vray Lights”. The conversion process will be completed within a few seconds.
You can download the script here. Extract the files and copy them to:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2014\scripts
Update: This Script Does Not Work with Corona 3.0 or Later, or 3ds Max 2018 or Later
This means that files saved in these versions cannot be converted using this script. If you want to perform the conversion, you must install both the Corona and V-Ray plugins (since Render Legion joined forces with Chaos Group).

If both the Corona and V-Ray plugins are installed in 3ds Max 2018 or later, you can convert Corona materials to V-Ray materials as follows. Right-click in the viewport, select “V-Ray Scene Converter”, and then click Convert.
